.
In this Sunday's Plain Dealer (26 September) there was a cover story on a recent poll run by Ohio papers on Election 2010 candidates and issues. An interesting question asked was:
. If you could choose where to live, would you... 1. Move to another country. 2. Move to another state. 3. Move to another part of Ohio 4. Move to another place in North East Ohio 5. Stay where you live now
.
The reason for this was to see how people view their home state and to see if they have plans to invest their lives here. That surely will have an impact on how people vote in November. Looking ahead to your future, how would you answer this question ? Why ?
.
This connects to what we're studying because you've been working to characterize the different colonies and colonial regions according to geographic, social, political, and economic opportunities. How would you describe Ohio today in these areas ? What makes Ohio-Ohio ? What about Ohio would keep you in-state ? What might push or pull you out ?
